SAN DIEGO – October 6, 2010 – Z Microsystems, a leading provider of mission-ready computing systems, today announced that it has been chosen as a finalist in two award programs for technology and business innovation. The company was named a finalist in TechAmerica San Diego’s 17th annual High Tech Awards for its business accomplishments. At the same time, Z Microsystems’ newest product, the Any-Image-Anywhere, was selected as a semifinalist for the CONNECT Most Innovative Product (MIP) Award in the Aerospace and Security category.
Any-Image-Anywhere (AIA) is a new advanced image enhancement and routing system for full-motion video used in Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) and Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions. As an MIP Award semifinalists, AIA was selected from 105 entries representing a broad range of companies within eight categories The CONNECT MIP Awards program has been an indicator of the technologies that have stimulated the San Diego economy, from early stage biotechnology companies to the first products generated by the region’s telecommunications boom.
Z Microsystems was also selected as a finalist in TechAmerica’s Computers and Related Products category for the company’s commitment to customers and its innovative AIA system. This year an abundant number of local San Diego companies submitted nominations for their technological or business innovation, exceptional products or services, product marketplace validation, perseverance in the face of adversity, and community involvement for consideration in 10 separate categories.
