UNWAVERING QUALITY AND RELIABILITY

What our customers are experiencing is a reflection of the extraordinary level of commitment that goes into every ZMicro product we build. We strive to create an exceptional customer experience at every step of our journey with them. That begins with our first meetings with a customer when we carefully listen and strive to fully understand their needs. Next, we move on to thoughtful design and innovative engineering, and finally we embark on our meticulous manufacturing process where we use proven methods such as 5S Lean organization and third-party testing to ensure every product meets high-quality standards.

The ultimate test of quality, though, is whether ruggedized displays and computing systems perform reliably in demanding deployed environments. ZMicro’s products used in every branch of the armed services and are deployed in land vehicles and shelters, on board aircraft and at sea. Time and time again, ZMicro’s fielded products are proven themselves and even when subjected to the harshest real-world conditions, they consistently stand up to the challenge.

ENGINEERING EXCELLENCE

Engineering innovation and know-how are at the essence of every ZMicro product and are deeply woven into the company culture. Our in-house team includes the full breadth of engineering disciplines, including project engineers, electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, firmware and software engineers, test engineers, environmental engineers, technicians and chief scientist. ZMicro has the professional personnel and processes in place to support your program and has the capability to implement designs from concept to full rate production.

Engineering Design Process

All ZMicro projects follow the company’s multi-phased development approach which enables us to field new products quickly. We have a small, nimble dedicated team to support customer specific solutions. Each project has an assigned lead project engineer to manage electrical engineers, mechanical engineers as well as firmware, software, and environmental engineers.

A typical project includes the following three phases:

  • Conceptual Design: agile techniques are employed to quickly render a prototype to vet concepts.
  • Detail Design: includes structured design review by a cross-functional team in order to minimize risks; entails extensive simulations and analysis; ensures, for example, electromagnetic signal integrity or that every component and assembly performs properly within expected temperature ranges.
  • Verification: a product prototype is then created and subjected to rigorous verification that includes a functional checkout with detailed test plans and environmental testing.

Once verification is successfully completed, the product’s design is then transferred to manufacturing for full rate production.
