Oversee the Material Review Board (MRB) process and coordinate Supplier Quality efforts to ensure the quality and reliability of the products and components provided by ZMicro’s suppliers. Communicate with the supply chain to build relationships and continually improve the quality of material received. Investigate, analyze, and resolve supplier quality problems by conducting audits, analyzing non-conforming material trends, and managing supplier corrective actions. Lead continuous improvement projects with the supply chain.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Lead the Material Review Board (MRB) process, collaborating with internal teams, such as Engineering, Manufacturing, and Purchasing, to determine the disposition of non-conforming material.
2. Transact materials based on MRB disposition, ensuring proper recording and documentation of material movements.
3. Manage the supplier approval process and maintain the Approved Supplier List (ASL)
4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate and qualify potential new suppliers, ensuring their capabilities meet quality requirements.
5. Conduct regular supplier audits to assess compliance with ZMicro’s Quality Management System, (QMS) processes, and specifications.
6. Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, fostering effective communication, and promoting a culture of quality excellence and continuous improvement.
7. Establish specific supplier quality goals and work with suppliers to continually improve.
8. Lead supplier development activities, including providing guidance, support, and training to suppliers to enhance their quality systems and processes.
9. Issue and monitor supplier corrective action as needed. Champion problem-solving and 5-why root cause investigation activities with suppliers to eliminate the recurrence of non‐conformances.
10. Collaborate with internal teams, such as Engineering, Manufacturing, and Purchasing, to resolve quality issues and implement supplier-driven improvement projects.
11. Monitor and analyze supplier performance metrics, including defect rates, delivery reliability, and responsiveness, and drive improvement initiatives as necessary.
12. Analyze Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ) metrics, and drive improvement initiatives as needed.
13. Present supplier performance metrics to executive management during management review and discuss trends and action plans.
14. Participate in regulatory audits and lead the supply chain portion of the audits.
15. Work with the supply chain to ensure material received complies with applicable restricted substance lists such as RoHS and REACH. Also, maintain ZMicro’s conflict minerals reporting.
16. Stay current with industry best practices, emerging trends, and regulations related to supplier quality management and incorporate them into the company’s processes and procedures.
17. Additional tasks as assigned by the Quality department leadership.
Qualifications:
1. Proven experience in supplier quality or a similar role within a manufacturing or engineering environment (equivalent work experience of at least 3 years is acceptable).
2. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
3. Proficient in conducting supplier audits.
4. Experienced in managing supplier performance metrics, and trend analysis.
5. Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
6. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to perform root cause analysis and implement effective corrective and preventive actions
7. Strong understanding of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100) and quality tools and methodologies.
8. Attention to detail, with a focus on ensuring product quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction.
9. Must have strong organizational skills and be able to function independently of direct supervision. 10. A valid driver’s license in good standing and the ability to travel abroad is required.
11. 2+ years of experience working with suppliers in a manufacturing environment.

Summary:
As a key member of multi-discipline development teams, the Senior Electrical Engineer Designer (SrEE) will be involved with all levels of electrical/electronic design, including system and board-level architecture definition, component selection, schematic design, design reviews, BOM generation, etc. The SrEE will coordinate and execute the debugging of his or her own designs, as well as assist with the projects and designs of other EEs and team members. In addition, the SrEE will advise on appropriate test methods to be used during the qualification phase of his or her designs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Responsible for electrical design aspects of assigned projects, including generation of Product Electrical Design Specification, system architecture and block diagrams, and detailed electrical design functions
• Application of standard engineering design principles and methodology for research of design options and experimentation to determine potential design feasibility or application
• Interface with and manage external design resources, when appropriate – for example, outside consultants, PCB layout engineers, etc.
• Review of product documentation for accuracy including documentation intended for customer use. Review and evaluation of product design through informal and formal design reviews as well as through design verification test plans and reports
• Evaluation of product non-conformances and recommendation of design modifications, and Mentoring engineers and technicians.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and a minimum of 15 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and demonstrable experience.
Skills:
• System-level engineering experience with a focus on electrical design including high-speed design, digital/analog hardware design, power system design, and system interconnection
• Experience with hardware design of microcontroller, FPGA and or SOC-based systems
• Experience with high-speed board design and layout techniques (HDMI, USB 3.0, DDR4, etc.)
• Understanding and/or direct experience with HDL and firmware design flow, and familiarity and experience with digital display controller design
• Proficient in Altium schematic capture tools
• Outstanding interpersonal and written/verbal (English) communication skills
• Ability to work with management to set and achieve goals based on priorities of development projects and support of internal and external customers
• Ability to make progress on several projects simultaneously: the ability to adapt to changing priorities in a very fast-paced work environment
