    ZMicro is seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineering Test Technician to join our team in San Diego, CA. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Design Verification Testing (DVT), functional verification, and environmental qualification testing of electronic systems. This position plays a key role in validating ruggedized servers, display systems, and embedded computing products by developing test plans, executing test programs, and identifying design issues throughout the product development cycle.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    As a key member of our Engineering Test team, you’ll:

    • Create and execute functional verification test plans to test hardware, firmware, and system-level performance.
    • Perform Design Verification Testing (DVT) on servers, display systems, and embedded computing products.
    • Conduct and support environmental testing in accordance with military and industry standards.
    • Set up and conduct environmental testing, including temperature, humidity, vibration, shock, altitude, thermal cycling, and transportation simulations per MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, and DO-160, on-site and at third-party labs located in Southern California.
    • Configure test setups, operate laboratory equipment, and collect and analyze test data.
    • Troubleshoot hardware and system-level issues, perform root cause analysis, and document findings.
    • Generate test procedures, reports, and other verification documentation.
    • Collaborate with engineering teams to verify requirements, evaluate design changes, and validate corrective actions.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Education & Experience:

    • Associate degree in Electronics Technology, Engineering Technology, or related field; bachelor’s degree preferred.
    • Minimum 10 years of experience performing verification, validation, and environmental testing of electronic systems.
    • Experience developing test plans and procedures for functional and environmental verification
    • Experience with ruggedized military, aerospace, or industrial computing systems.
    • Knowledge of military standards and related qualification standards.
    • Experience testing servers, displays, networking equipment, storage systems, and embedded electronics.
    • Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems
    • IPC solder certification is a plus.

    Technical Skills:

    • Strong knowledge of Design Verification Testing (DVT) and requirements-based verification.
    • Hands-on experience with environmental testing per military standards.
    • Proficiency with oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, data acquisition systems, environmental chambers, and vibration equipment.
    • Solid writing and documentation skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment while delivering accurate, timely, and high-quality results.

    We are seeking an outgoing, ambitious, and qualified candidate eager to take ownership and responsibility for the position of Inside Sales Administrator. This role serves as the operational backbone of the Inside Sales function, supporting order management, customer communication, and sales team effectiveness.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Serve as the inside advocate for customers — answering inquiries regarding order status, pricing, lead times, and product availability.
    • Interface with customers for purchase order review, entry, confirmation, and status updates.
    • Create and manage sales orders in QAD; obtain required approvals and send order acknowledgements to customers.
    • Review purchase orders and quotes to verify part numbers and pricing accuracy; follow up with customers to resolve discrepancies.
    • Track sales orders, bookings, and shipments; maintain and distribute reports and forecasts for the sales team in the CRM.
    • Maintain an organized archive of all ZMicro quotes; retrieve information for outside reps and customers as needed.
    • Assist with quotation generation and pricing updates; enter and qualify sales leads into the CRM.
    • Serve as the communication bridge between Operations (procurement and production planning) and the outside sales team for schedule changes, including pull-ins and push-outs, and COTS-driven lead time or pricing impacts due to unforeseen market fluctuations; coordinate with the Associate Product Manager on required pricing adjustments.
    • Obtain required management approvals or waivers related to schedule and pricing changes; follow up with outside sales representatives to ensure timely customer acknowledgement and PO updates.
    • Monitor manufacturing and shipping schedules; coordinate tracking numbers and distribute shipping confirmations to customers and reps.
    • Conduct customer follow-up surveys and support customer satisfaction efforts.
    • Support trade show logistics including equipment coordination, packing, and shipping; occasionally assist with setup and teardown.
    • Serve as the HQ-based point of contact providing inside support to the outside sales team.
    • Help define and implement sales team policies and procedures; contribute to process documentation improvement.
    • Serve as the primary interface for incoming sales calls made directly to the ZMicro phone system.
    • Occasional travel to support Sales or Marketing activities may be required.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • College degree preferred; minimum 3 years of customer service or sales administrator experience.
    • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Must work effectively in a team environment.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
    • Experience with Salesforce.com or equivalent CRM tools and QAD a plus.
