Z Microsystems is seeking a qualified candidate for this challenging and rewarding Network Administrator position.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Oversees the day-to-day operation of computer networks including hardware/software support, training, and special projects; plans, designs and implements data connectivity for local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN) systems.
  • Provide continuous monitoring on health of network, troubleshooting, and correction as needed.
  • Monitor system capacity and performance metrics.
  • Maintain Windows 2003/2008 Servers and Active Directory as needed.
  • Perform periodic administration and maintenance of email system.
  • Perform network user and resource (e.g. printers) administration tasks.
  • Perform hardware and software upgrades as needed including testing, package builds, and implementations.
  • Submit periodic reports to the Information Technology Manager.
    • Experience with Linux.

Project Management & Help Desk

  • Take ownership for escalated Help Desk cases to resolution as needed.
  • Prioritize case load based on criticality and established service level agreements.
  • Work with third party vendors on project implementation; facilitate hand off from implementation to ongoing support, upgrades, and maintenance of hardware/software.

Documentation and Disaster Recovery

  • Maintain hardware, software, and maintenance contract inventory.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed network documentation including diagrams, procedures, etc.
  • Ensures data backups complete according to schedule.
  • Perform periodic disaster recovery testing of network hardware and applications.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Microsoft and Cisco certifications
  • Minimum 3+ years Cisco technical network engineering experience.
  • Minimum 3+ experience in the following networking protocols: IP, Spanning Tree, IGRP, EIGRP, RIP, RIP2, OSPF, H.323, MGCP, and HSRP.
  • Minimum 5+ years experience in the following WAN transport data/voice technologies: T-1 POTS, ISDN-PRI/BRI, Frame Relay, ATM, DS-3, MPLS.
  • Minimum 3+ years experience in the following Cisco products: 3500 series and Catalyst switches, 2600 and 3600 series routers, Cisco ASA Firewall.
  • Minimum of 5 years hands on experience utilizing Windows 2003/2008, and should include Network Design and Administration in a large corporate multi-platform environment.
  • Must have a strong understanding of Networking Concepts to include TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, and AD.
  • Must have extensive experience with Microsoft products and Technologies to include SQL Server 2007, Exchange 2003/2007, and IIS.
  • Previous experience with VMware ESX server, NetApp NAS, Juniper VPN Networking, Evault Data Backup software highly preferred.
